My Husband and I retired to a chalet house in the centre of Findon village, August 1983, aged 60 and 66. By early 2006, some 23 years later, we realised we needed an easier home for our remaining years. By a fortuitous coincidence one of the best houses in The Willows, Findon, came on the market. We have now lived in our present home for just over a year and find it ideal. But it very nearly did not happen at all, and might not have done – but for the valiant efforts of Curtis & Son. They handled both our sale and purchase, as well as the sale The Willows house for it’s owners. We offered the asking price in early August 2006, the sellers desired an early completion as they had found a suitable empty flat in Sanderstead. We were packed, with excellent removers engaged, by the end of August. It should have been an easy sale for all concerned and a particularly easy one for Curtis & Son. But it did not work out like that at all! Our sale went smoothly thanks to the skilful, smooth efficiency of the Agents, and the potential purchase did not cause any worry… but vacant possession became an almost insurmountable difficulty due to unforeseen problems with the Sanderstead purchase (another Agent). The fact that we did move, be it as late as mid November 2006, tested the skills of all concerned at Curtis & Son to the limit. It seemed as if the intended move would never happen, and that we would spend a miserable Christmas surrounded by packing cases, with nowhere to live, but we eventually moved just in time for my husband’s 90th birthday and a very happy, contented Christmas.
